Also the ERP company can add custom categories or items specifically for your company. ERP systems are invaluable to management in every company to manage real-time inputs. But the companies also have to act quickly when something does not look right, because it usually isn't. If the job is showing an above normal cycle time, it should tell people to find out why it is about the quoted cycle and review the causes. Everything has a cause and effect.

Developed and taught a 3-year (200 day year, 450 hrs per year) High School Plastics Technology vocational program from 1975 to 1989. Covered Thermoplastics Processing, Thermoset Processing, and Advanced Plastics (Design, Pattern, Mold and Tool Making). Three jobs for every grad at 2 to 3 times minimum wage. Unfortunately, got a new principal who thought sports were more important than education and hated vocational. Killed the voc courses within 4 years.

This country is in desperate need of more of these hard working, inquisitive young men and women. I wish the schools would stop cramming down their throats the promise of achieving all their hopes and dreams with what only a four year college degree can give. They need to see there are other options. In many cases better option than $200,000 of college debt with no way of paying it off. The schools need to "shine a light" on manufacturing and not hide those ideas in the dark corner of the counselor's room!

Thanks Christina for another great interview. Prior to my retirement I had the pleasure of working with Steve and Zero Tolerance. Since I retired, Steve has built several "claws" for loading brass inserts into molds for overmolding for the company (Safety Technology International) which work great and addressed three issues, cycle time (and consistency), quality and safety. We tired for years to come up with a cost effective method to load these inserts with no success. The 3D printed tool works great and is cost effective.
